Charlotte NC Area including York County SC Real Estate Blog

Charlotte area home prices were up slightly in June, 2009, for the third consecutive month.  The small increase of .7% is a positive sign.  York County SC, including Rock Hill and Fort Mill, South Carolina, also experienced slight improvements.  We are watching the market closely to see if the trend continues as we enter fall.

Charlotte area home sales were still down in April, 2009.  The 1773 houses, townhouses and condos were down 26% compared to April 2008.  The decline did represent a break in a string of declines exceeding 30%. 

Much of the improvement come from sales in Lancaster County, SC.

Charlotte Area homebuilding consturction permits are down first quarter of 2009 82% over the the same period in 2008.

In Mecklenburg, single family permits fell 62%.
